cupCupping is another practice of TCM which involves attaching suction cups to the skin of soft tissue areas – such as shoulders, back and thighs. Cups can be used in the treatment of many conditions, such as:

  • Musculoskeletal problems
  • Back pain
  • Stiff neck
  • Sports injuries
  • Chest problems and
  • Cold and flu symptoms.

The only side affect from cupping that occur in some cases are some minor bruises that only last a few days. The bruises generally do not hurt at all and the application of Zen liniment at the end of the treatment ensures complete dispersion of the bruise in 2 – 3 days.

After a treatment of cupping, the patient is noticeably relaxed and areas of pain are far less inflamed. Range of movement is increased and for colds and flu symptoms are significantly relieved.
